Some other electronic flight tools have the possibility to buy official ICAO map overlays as an optional purchase. Would this be a possibility in a future version of Sky Demon? That would add an official touch to the moving map, as you can then prove that you use a legally required map for VFR planning.

We have no plans in the immediate feature to deliver static charts in SkyDemon.

The SkyDemon chart is no more or less legal for planning or navigating with than any other chart, printed or otherwise.

I understand and agree with your point. But I think in the Netherlands only an official IACO or Jeppessen map is considered a legal map when you have to prove that you have a current chart. But the rules (or interpretation!) are different for different countries. To avoid these situations, it would be handy. I always also carry a current paper chart. Never trust only the electronic device!
